  • This new Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) course is part of the WIMEA-ICT Project run by Prof. Jochen Reuder from the University of Bergen. You will learn how to run the WRF model for weather and climate applications with a focus on Africa. (This course has 110+ participants)

Self enrolment: WIMEA-ICT e-learning: WRF training for Africa
  • This course will teach you how to run the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model and how to use it in weather applications. It will be taught together with Dr. Eric Kelsey, who works as a Research Assistant Professor at Plymouth State University (USA) and as the Director of Research at the Mount Washington Observatory. Certificates of participation are provided.

Self enrolment: Weather Applications using WRF
  • This course is about running the Weather Research and Forecasting model in a high performance computing environment.

Self enrolment: Running the WRF Model on a Supercomputer
  • This course will teach you how to run the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model and how to use it in climate applications. The course is divided into 8 parts, which can be taken at the participant's own time and pace - making it a flexible option. There are currently 490+ registered participants taking this course! If you would like to learn WRF, you are welcome to register at anytime! Certificates of participation are provided.

Self enrolment: Regional Climate Modelling Using WRF
  • This course teaches participants about the Bayesian statistics theory, as well as its applications in climate science. It has a special focus on analyzing climate model output. The course is divided into 8 parts, which can be taken at the participant's own time and pace - making it a flexible option. Several skills will be developed in this course, such as: how to use the R statistics software, how to do Bayesian data analysis and how to think the "Bayesian" way. There are currently 328+ registered participants taking this course! So, if you would like to learn Bayesian statistics, you are welcome to register at anytime! Certificates of participation are provided.

Self enrolment: Introduction to Applied Bayesian Statistics for Climate Research

We would like to add a new course to m2lab.org, but we want to know what you are interested in. If the course you want receives 100 votes, then we will develop it. It is as simple as that! We have created a very quick survey to help us determine what is in demand. So, here is where you can cast your vote: Voting form

We look forward to working with you in future courses!

WRF Group on Facebook
by Michel Mesquita - Friday, 27 June 2014, 1:28 AM

Greetings!

As someone who took (or who are taking) the online course in Regional Climate Modeling Using WRF, you are invited to keep in contact with other participants via our newly created Facebook Group.

This is an informal, private group and is not part of the course itself, but we thought it would be a great way to build a community for those of us learning to run WRF as a Regional Climate model.
